RTDs are used when accuracy, repeatability, and long-term stability are critical to the process. Pyromation provides RTDs in multiple constructions, element types, wiring configurations, and temperature ranges, allowing customers to get a precise sensor built for their equipment rather than settling for a standard off-the-shelf option.
RTDs are available in two-, three- and four-wire configurations. Two-wire RTDs are the simplest option but include lead-wire resistance in the temperature measurement. Three-wire RTDs compensate for most lead resistance and are the most common choice for industrial process control. Four-wire RTDs provide the highest measurement accuracy and are often used for laboratory, calibration and critical process applications.
